About this product

Admin Menu Editor Pro Toolbar Editor 1.5.2 is the optional add-on that lets you edit the WordPress Toolbar, the Admin Bar that runs along the top of the screen for logged-in users. It's aimed at agencies and freelancers who hand sites over to clients, and at anyone already using Admin Menu Editor Pro to tidy the admin menu who wants the Toolbar to match. A client who never touches comments or the new-content shortcuts doesn't need to see them up there every day.

What's in the Admin Menu Editor Pro Toolbar Editor download

Our download is the original Admin Menu Editor Pro Toolbar Editor ZIP for version 1.5.2, with the license key already activated. It holds the add-on only. Admin Menu Editor Pro, the plugin it extends, is not in this file and is a separate product, as is the developer's Branding add-on for logos, the login page and color schemes.

Good to know

Toolbar Editor is an add-on for Admin Menu Editor Pro, so install and activate Pro first; the developer offers it only alongside Pro, not with the free Admin Menu Editor. Pro needs WordPress 5.9 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer, and the add-on's own file asks for PHP 7.2 or newer. One catch: Toolbar colors are set in Pro's Admin Customizer and don't need this add-on at all, so the add-on is for hiding, ordering, renaming and adding items.

Features & capabilities

  • Hide Toolbar items that you or your clients don't need.
  • Drag and drop items into a new order.
  • Rename existing items so the labels make sense to the people using the site.
  • Add your own links to the Toolbar, for example to a help page or a client area.
  • Works on the WordPress Toolbar, also called the Admin Bar, rather than the side admin menu.
  • Sits next to Admin Menu Editor Pro, which keeps handling the admin menu, menu permissions and Toolbar colors.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the original file?

Yes. Every product on GPLGuide is the developer’s own release, unchanged. The license key comes already activated. If a product does ask for a key, the activation steps appear on its page once you have it.

Is it legal to use a GPL plugin or theme from GPLGuide?

Yes. WordPress plugins and themes are released under the GPL, which lets anyone use, share and change the code. The developer’s support desk and the developer’s own update service are not part of the file; those stay with the developer.

How do I install it?

Log in, open the product page and click Download under Your downloads. For a plugin go to Plugins, Add New Plugin, Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP, then Install Now and Activate. For a theme go to Appearance, Themes, Add New Theme, Upload Theme.

How do updates work?

When a newer version is listed on GPLGuide, download it from the product page and upload it over the installed copy; WordPress offers to replace the old version. Updates are manual.

Can I use it on more than one site?

Yes. The GPL lets you use it on as many of your own sites as you like.

What if the file does not work or a newer version is out?

Tell us on the Request Item page or through Support. We check the file and add the newer version when we have it.
