About this product

Advanced Ads AMP Ads 2.0.5 is the paid add-on that makes ads from the free Advanced Ads plugin work on Accelerated Mobile Pages. The developer renamed it from Responsive Ads, so it's the same product under its new name. It's meant for blogs and news sites that serve AMP versions of their posts through an AMP plugin and want their AdSense units to show there too, because most standard ad JavaScript breaks on AMP pages.

What's in the Advanced Ads AMP Ads download

Our download is the original Advanced Ads AMP Ads ZIP for version 2.0.5, with the license key already activated. It does not include an AMP plugin, which you add separately. The browser width condition, reloading ads when the screen size changes and forced responsive image ads moved to Advanced Ads Pro in November 2023, so they are not in this file. Google Ad Manager tags get their AMP conversion from a separate add-on.

Good to know

The header asks for WordPress 5.7 and PHP 7.4 or newer, and the free Advanced Ads plugin must be active. You also need an AMP plugin; the developer recommends the one simply called AMP and also lists AMP for WP. The AMP fields in an ad's Ad Parameters box only show once an AMP plugin is installed. Responsive AdSense units get a 320 pixel height on AMP unless you change it, and in-feed ads are removed from AMP pages.

How to install Advanced Ads AMP Ads

  1. Install and activate the free Advanced Ads plugin first under Plugins, Add New Plugin, and add your AMP plugin there too if the site has none yet.
  2. Log in to GPLGuide, open this product and click Download under Your downloads.
  3. Go to Plugins, Add New Plugin, Upload Plugin in WordPress and pick the AMP Ads ZIP without unpacking it.
  4. Click Install Now and then Activate once WordPress confirms the upload.
  5. Edit an AdSense ad to find the AMP options in its Ad Parameters box; AMP Auto ads are switched on under Advanced Ads, Settings, AdSense.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the original file?

Yes. Every product on GPLGuide is the developer’s own release, unchanged. The license key comes already activated. If a product does ask for a key, the activation steps appear on its page once you have it.

Is it legal to use a GPL plugin or theme from GPLGuide?

Yes. WordPress plugins and themes are released under the GPL, which lets anyone use, share and change the code. The developer’s support desk and the developer’s own update service are not part of the file; those stay with the developer.

How do I install it?

Log in, open the product page and click Download under Your downloads. For a plugin go to Plugins, Add New Plugin, Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP, then Install Now and Activate. For a theme go to Appearance, Themes, Add New Theme, Upload Theme.

How do updates work?

When a newer version is listed on GPLGuide, download it from the product page and upload it over the installed copy; WordPress offers to replace the old version. Updates are manual.

Can I use it on more than one site?

Yes. The GPL lets you use it on as many of your own sites as you like.

What if the file does not work or a newer version is out?

Tell us on the Request Item page or through Support. We check the file and add the newer version when we have it.
