About this product

Advanced Ads Selling Ads 2.0.6 is the paid add-on that turns the ad spots on your WordPress site into products advertisers can buy and pay for without emailing you first. It suits niche blogs, local news sites and community portals that sell banner space directly and are tired of handling every booking, payment and banner file by hand. Advertisers choose a spot, pay at checkout and upload their ad, and you approve it before it goes live.

What's in the Advanced Ads Selling Ads download

Our download is the original Advanced Ads Selling Ads ZIP for version 2.0.6, with the license key already activated. It runs on WooCommerce, which is free and not in the file, and payments go through the WooCommerce gateways you set up, such as PayPal or Stripe. Selling ads by impressions or clicks, and the stats links advertisers see in their account, need the separate Tracking add-on, which is also not included.

Good to know

The header asks for WordPress 5.7 and PHP 7.4 or newer and lists the free Advanced Ads plugin as required; WooCommerce must be active as well. Run the WooCommerce setup wizard first so the shop pages and a payment method exist. The advertiser setup page needs a permalink setting other than Plain. Recurring billing isn't supported, so each booking is a one-off order, and if your theme uses a custom single product template, the price options may not appear.

How to install Advanced Ads Selling Ads

  1. Install and activate the free Advanced Ads plugin and WooCommerce first under Plugins, Add New Plugin, since this add-on needs both to run.
  2. Log in to GPLGuide, open this product and click Download under Your downloads.
  3. In WordPress, open Plugins, Add New Plugin, Upload Plugin and select the Selling Ads ZIP as you downloaded it.
  4. Click Install Now, then Activate when WordPress reports the plugin is installed.
  5. Go to Advanced Ads, Settings, Selling to set the store admin email, the sender email and the setup page advertisers use.
  6. Add a new product under Products, choose the Advanced Ads product type, then fill in the price lines and the placements buyers may pick.

Features & capabilities

  • Sells ad spots by the day, by impressions or clicks, or as a flat deal you schedule yourself.
  • Checkout, payment and order emails run through WooCommerce and its payment gateways.
  • After paying, the advertiser uploads an image or HTML ad on a dedicated setup page.
  • Each purchase becomes a draft ad that waits as pending until you publish or reject it.
  • Emails tell the client when an ad is rejected or published and tell you when content waits.
  • You choose which placements are for sale, and a sold ad replaces a single ad or joins a group.
  • An Ads list in the customer account shows each advertiser what they bought.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the original file?

Yes. Every product on GPLGuide is the developer’s own release, unchanged. The license key comes already activated. If a product does ask for a key, the activation steps appear on its page once you have it.

Is it legal to use a GPL plugin or theme from GPLGuide?

Yes. WordPress plugins and themes are released under the GPL, which lets anyone use, share and change the code. The developer’s support desk and the developer’s own update service are not part of the file; those stay with the developer.

How do I install it?

Log in, open the product page and click Download under Your downloads. For a plugin go to Plugins, Add New Plugin, Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP, then Install Now and Activate. For a theme go to Appearance, Themes, Add New Theme, Upload Theme.

How do updates work?

When a newer version is listed on GPLGuide, download it from the product page and upload it over the installed copy; WordPress offers to replace the old version. Updates are manual.

Can I use it on more than one site?

Yes. The GPL lets you use it on as many of your own sites as you like.

What if the file does not work or a newer version is out?

Tell us on the Request Item page or through Support. We check the file and add the newer version when we have it.
