About this product

The Consulten theme is a finance and consulting WordPress theme by KodeSolution, built on the Elementor page builder with a large set of ready home layouts. It suits firms that sell advice: accountants, financial advisers, tax specialists and business consultants. This page is for Consulten 2.0, released on May 25, 2026. On GPLGuide you download the original theme file to install on your own websites.

Good for: accounting practices, wealth and financial advisers, tax and payroll services, management consultants and small agencies that want service pages, staff profiles, case studies and client testimonials, with room to add a shop, a newsletter form or a second language later.

Requirements: PHP 8.0 or newer and MySQL 5 or MariaDB 10.0 or newer, according to the developer's docs. The item page lists WordPress 6.5 up to 7.0 and WooCommerce 9. The docs mark nine plugins as required: Mascot Core, Mascot Core - Consulten, One Click Demo Import, Elementor, Meta Box, Meta Box Bundle (Mascot), Redux Framework, WooCommerce and Contact Form 7.

What the Consulten theme does

A consulting website has to earn trust before anyone picks up the phone. The Consulten theme gives you the parts for that: home pages with a clear offer, service pages, staff profiles, project write-ups and testimonials, all edited in Elementor. KodeSolution adds more than 30 of its own Elementor shortcodes on top of the standard widgets.

The Consulten theme gives you a wide choice of starting points. The first release listed four index home layouts, four with a video background, four with a slider and four single home layouts. Version 2.0 then added 15 new home layouts. Sliders run on Revolution Slider, which the item page says is included with the theme.

Design extras in the Consulten theme include parallax sections, smooth animation, over 800 Google Fonts and five icon sets: Font Awesome, Elegant Icon Fonts, 7 Stroke, IcoMoon and Ion Icons. The layout is responsive, and the item page lists Bootstrap 5. The theme also supports right-to-left languages and is listed as WPML ready, so a firm with clients in Arabic or Hebrew markets, or in two languages, can serve them from one site.

Header, footer and page title builder

The Consulten theme handles the header, the footer and the page title area in the same three-step way. First you create and design one or more versions. Then you choose a default for the whole site under Theme Option, the menu item the theme adds to the left of your dashboard. Finally you can override that default on any single page through the page meta box, which comes from the required Meta Box plugins.

This is handy for a consulting site. Your main pages can share a clean header with the phone number and a booking button, while a campaign page for year-end tax planning uses a transparent header over a video, and the careers page gets a different page title banner. The developer links a video guide for each of these steps from the docs.

Menus, widgets and the home page are set in the usual WordPress places: Appearance, Menu; Appearance, Widget; and Settings, Reading for the page that opens your site.

Consulten theme key features: home layouts, Elementor shortcodes, header and footer builder, staff, services and projects
The main parts of the Consulten theme, from the developer's item page and docs.

Staff, Services, Projects and Testimonials

The docs describe four custom post types in the Consulten theme, each with its own menu in the dashboard. Staff holds your team, from partners to junior advisers. Services holds what you sell, such as bookkeeping, tax returns, audit support or growth strategy. Projects works as a case study library, and Testimonials stores client quotes you can show on any page.

Because these are separate content types, each adviser, service or case study is its own entry in the dashboard. That is easier to keep current than text copied across pages when people join or offers change. The developer's docs link a short video for each post type.

Write case studies with real numbers your clients agreed to share, such as hours saved on month-end close or the time it took to prepare for an audit. Specific results sell advice better than general claims.

Demo import and server settings

The Consulten theme demo import runs through the One Click Demo Import plugin. Install and activate all nine required plugins first, then go to Appearance, Import Demo Data, click Import Demo Data and confirm with Continue and Import. The docs say it can take several minutes and that you should not leave the page while it runs.

The import needs a capable host. The docs ask for max_execution_time and max_input_time of 600, a memory_limit of 256M, post_max_size and upload_max_filesize of 128M, and max_input_vars of 3000. Your host must also allow .xml, .wie and .json files, because some servers block them and return a 403 error. If the import stalls, these limits are the first thing to check with your host.

Once the import finishes, check that Settings, Reading points at the home layout you want, then review the menus under Appearance, Menu. Delete the demo staff, services and projects you won't use, so they don't appear in lists or search results on your Consulten theme site.

Setups a finance or consulting firm can copy

These ideas use the Consulten theme layouts, post types and plugins named by the developer. Pick one and adapt it.

  • Local accounting practice: Start from an index home layout, list four or five Services with a fixed starting fee, and add Staff profiles with each accountant's speciality.
  • Tax season landing page: Use a video home layout for a short welcome, a page title banner with the filing deadline and a Contact Form 7 form for appointment requests.
  • Management consultant: A single home layout keeps everything on one page: the offer, three Projects as case studies, Testimonials and a contact form.
  • Two-language firm: Add WPML for a second language, and use the RTL support if one of them is Arabic or Hebrew.
  • Newsletter for clients: Place a MailChimp signup form in the footer to send monthly tax tips or market notes.
  • Paid templates or reports: WooCommerce is on the required list, so you can sell budgeting templates or a fixed-price business review.

Whichever you choose, put one clear next step on every page, such as booking a free 20-minute call. Visitors who compare advisers may not read every page, so the button has to be there when they decide.

What's new in Consulten 2.0

Version 2.0 came out on May 25, 2026, about a month after the first release on April 20, 2026. It adds 15 new home layouts and updates the core and theme plugins. The item page shows a last update of October 13, 2026, but its changelog lists no version after 2.0, so 2.0 is the newest release we can confirm.

With only two releases so far, the Consulten theme is a young product. That means a current base, with PHP 8 required by the docs and Bootstrap 5 on the item page, but only a short track record of updates.

Good to know before you buy

The Consulten theme needs nine plugins from the docs list to look like the demo. Most are free plugins from WordPress.org, while the two Mascot Core plugins and Meta Box Bundle (Mascot) are the theme's own add-ons. Revolution Slider, a commercial plugin that we do not sell, is listed on the item page as included for the slider layouts, although the docs do not name it among the required plugins.

Demo images for the Consulten theme are for preview only and not included, as the item page states, so plan your own photos. The item page marks the theme as not Gutenberg optimized; build pages with Elementor. The docs do not cover updates or translation, and they do not name the plugin behind the MailChimp forms. We found no services on the developer's servers among the parts listed.

Item support for the Consulten theme comes from KodeSolution through your ThemeForest account, for six months with the Regular licence. Updates from our shop are manual, as explained below.

Consulten from GPLGuide vs the official subscription

The Consulten theme is sold by KodeSolution on ThemeForest. The Regular licence costs $89 there and includes future updates through the marketplace and six months of item support from the developer, with an option to extend support to 12 months. Under Envato's licence for this item, its PHP code is licensed under the GPL.

From GPLGuide you get the original Consulten theme file, with the home layouts, Elementor shortcodes, header and footer builder and custom post types that are in the file. The file from GPLGuide comes with the license key already activated, so there is no key to enter.

What only KodeSolution provides is item support through your ThemeForest account, refunds under Envato's rules and updates through the marketplace. If you want the developer's team to help with a setup problem, buy the licence on ThemeForest.

How to install the Consulten theme

  1. Sign in to GPLGuide, open My Account, Downloads and save the Consulten ZIP.
  2. In WordPress go to Appearance, Themes, Add New Theme, Upload Theme, choose the ZIP and click Install Now, then Activate.
  3. Go to Appearance, Install Plugins and install and activate all nine required plugins.
  4. Go to Appearance, Import Demo Data, click Import Demo Data, then Continue and Import.

If the upload in WordPress fails, the docs suggest uploading the theme folder through cPanel or FTP to wp-content/themes instead. For a good first setup, raise the server limits before you import, then open Theme Option to pick your default header and footer. Add three Staff entries and three Services with your real details, and check the home page before you write anything else.

Keeping it up to date

Updates from GPLGuide are manual. When a new version of the Consulten theme is listed here, download it from your account and upload it under Appearance, Themes, Add New Theme, Upload Theme. WordPress offers to replace the installed copy, and your pages, staff and settings stay in the database. Version 2.0 also updated the core and theme plugins, so update those from the same release. The developer's package includes a child theme for code changes. If you see a newer version that we haven't added, tell us on the Request Item/Update page.
