About this product

Perfmatters 2.6.9 is a performance plugin for WordPress that trims what your pages load instead of caching them. It's for site owners and developers who already run a caching plugin or host cache and still see weak Core Web Vitals scores, often because every plugin loads its scripts and styles on every page. Blogs, WooCommerce shops and sites built with page builders get the most out of it, since that's where unused CSS and third-party JavaScript pile up fastest.

What's in the Perfmatters download

Our download is the original Perfmatters ZIP for version 2.6.9, with the license key already activated. The developer sells the plugin in three yearly plans for one, three or unlimited sites, and multisite network activation is listed with the unlimited plan. Perfmatters is built to sit next to your caching plugin rather than replace it, so keep your page cache running after you install it.

Good to know

This version needs PHP 8.1 or newer, so check your host's PHP version before you upload it. The Script Manager stays hidden until you switch it on under Tools in the plugin settings, and even then it only opens on the front end, from the admin bar or by adding ?perfmatters to a page URL. Clear your cache after each change and check the page. If something breaks, Safe Mode turns off every optimization sitewide while security options and code snippets keep running.

How to install Perfmatters

  1. Log in to GPLGuide, open this product and click Download under Your downloads.
  2. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins, Add New Plugin, Upload Plugin and choose the Perfmatters ZIP.
  3. Click Install Now, wait for the upload to finish, then click Activate.
  4. Go to Settings, Perfmatters to find the option tabs, and switch on Script Manager under Tools if you want per-page control.

Features & capabilities

Frequently asked questions

Is this the original file?

Yes. Every product on GPLGuide is the developer’s own release, unchanged. The license key comes already activated. If a product does ask for a key, the activation steps appear on its page once you have it.

Is it legal to use a GPL plugin or theme from GPLGuide?

Yes. WordPress plugins and themes are released under the GPL, which lets anyone use, share and change the code. The developer’s support desk and the developer’s own update service are not part of the file; those stay with the developer.

How do I install it?

Log in, open the product page and click Download under Your downloads. For a plugin go to Plugins, Add New Plugin, Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP, then Install Now and Activate. For a theme go to Appearance, Themes, Add New Theme, Upload Theme.

How do updates work?

When a newer version is listed on GPLGuide, download it from the product page and upload it over the installed copy; WordPress offers to replace the old version. Updates are manual.

Can I use it on more than one site?

Yes. The GPL lets you use it on as many of your own sites as you like.

What if the file does not work or a newer version is out?

Tell us on the Request Item page or through Support. We check the file and add the newer version when we have it.
