About this product

WooCommerce Chained Products 3.10.0 links other products to a main product, so when a customer adds the main product to the cart, the linked items go in with it. It is meant for stores that sell fixed kits and combos: a shaving kit built from separate accessories, a course sold with its downloadable workbooks, a buy one get one deal, or a gift item that comes with a set product. The customer can't change what is inside the bundle, so the offer stays exactly as you set it up.

What's in the WooCommerce Chained Products download

Our download is the original WooCommerce Chained Products ZIP for version 3.10.0, with the license key already activated. The plugin works with simple, variable, subscription, virtual and downloadable products. The developer lists it as compatible with WooCommerce Subscriptions and Smart Coupons, which are separate products and are not part of this file.

Good to know

Chained Products needs WooCommerce, WordPress 4.9 or newer and PHP 7.0 or newer, and this release drops support for WooCommerce 3.0 to 3.4. It works with the cart and checkout blocks and HPOS order storage. You can't chain a parent variable product, only one of its variations, and a subscription can't sit inside another subscription. Chaining a normal product into a subscription needs Mixed Checkout under WooCommerce, Settings, Subscriptions, Miscellaneous. With stock managed, one chained item running out blocks the main product.

How to install WooCommerce Chained Products

  1. If your site doesn't run WooCommerce yet, install and activate it first under Plugins, Add New Plugin.
  2. Log in to GPLGuide, open this product and click Download under Your downloads.
  3. In WordPress, go to Plugins, Add New Plugin, Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP and click Install Now.
  4. Click Activate Plugin when WordPress tells you the upload has finished.
  5. Edit a product, open Product data, Linked Products and add items in the Chained Products field. Display options sit under WooCommerce, Settings, Products, Chained Products.

Features & capabilities

  • Link several products to one main product, each with its own quantity.
  • Charge one bundle price on the main product, or mark chained items Priced Individually so their prices add up.
  • Stock is counted on each chained item, so the main product needs no stock of its own.
  • Each variation of a variable product can carry its own set of chained items.
  • Nested bundles: chain an existing bundle into another product to build bigger packages.
  • New downloadable or virtual items chained later reach customers who bought the main product before.
  • A [chained_products] shortcode shows the bundle contents in a grid or a list in the product description.
  • Settings to show or hide chained items and their prices in the cart, checkout and order pages.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the original file?

Yes. Every product on GPLGuide is the developer’s own release, unchanged. The license key comes already activated. If a product does ask for a key, the activation steps appear on its page once you have it.

Is it legal to use a GPL plugin or theme from GPLGuide?

Yes. WordPress plugins and themes are released under the GPL, which lets anyone use, share and change the code. The developer’s support desk and the developer’s own update service are not part of the file; those stay with the developer.

How do I install it?

Log in, open the product page and click Download under Your downloads. For a plugin go to Plugins, Add New Plugin, Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP, then Install Now and Activate. For a theme go to Appearance, Themes, Add New Theme, Upload Theme.

How do updates work?

When a newer version is listed on GPLGuide, download it from the product page and upload it over the installed copy; WordPress offers to replace the old version. Updates are manual.

Can I use it on more than one site?

Yes. The GPL lets you use it on as many of your own sites as you like.

What if the file does not work or a newer version is out?

Tell us on the Request Item page or through Support. We check the file and add the newer version when we have it.
