About this product

Yoast SEO Premium 28.7 is the paid upgrade for the free Yoast SEO plugin. It suits blogs, business sites and content-heavy sites where the free version starts to slow you down: sites that publish often, rework or merge old posts, and have editors writing titles and descriptions for hundreds of pages. If you move or delete URLs regularly, or want to find the posts that nothing on your site links to, this is the version built for that daily work.

What's in the Yoast SEO Premium download

Our download is the original Yoast SEO Premium ZIP for version 28.7, with the license key already activated. It holds the Premium plugin on its own. Local SEO, Video SEO and News SEO are separate plugins that the developer bundles into its Premium plan, and they are not in this file. The Google Docs add-on and the WooCommerce SEO plugin are not part of this file either.

Good to know

Premium can't run without the free Yoast SEO plugin, so keep it installed and active at the same version as Premium or newer. The free plugin needs WordPress 6.9 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer. This release removes code that was deprecated long ago: a theme or snippet that still hooks into the wpseo_opengraph or wpseo_twitter actions now triggers a warning. Redirects run through PHP by default, and the faster Web Server option only writes rules on Apache, so stay with PHP on nginx.

How to install Yoast SEO Premium

  1. Install and activate the free Yoast SEO plugin under Plugins, Add New Plugin, and update it if it is older than this Premium release.
  2. Log in to GPLGuide, open this product and click Download under Your downloads.
  3. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins, Add New Plugin, Upload Plugin and choose the Premium ZIP you just downloaded.
  4. Click Install Now, then Activate Plugin, and leave the free plugin active next to it.
  5. Open the Yoast SEO menu in the dashboard, finish the First-time configuration tab under General, then manage your redirects under Redirects.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the original file?

Yes. Every product on GPLGuide is the developer’s own release, unchanged. The license key comes already activated. If a product does ask for a key, the activation steps appear on its page once you have it.

Is it legal to use a GPL plugin or theme from GPLGuide?

Yes. WordPress plugins and themes are released under the GPL, which lets anyone use, share and change the code. The developer’s support desk and the developer’s own update service are not part of the file; those stay with the developer.

How do I install it?

Log in, open the product page and click Download under Your downloads. For a plugin go to Plugins, Add New Plugin, Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP, then Install Now and Activate. For a theme go to Appearance, Themes, Add New Theme, Upload Theme.

How do updates work?

When a newer version is listed on GPLGuide, download it from the product page and upload it over the installed copy; WordPress offers to replace the old version. Updates are manual.

Can I use it on more than one site?

Yes. The GPL lets you use it on as many of your own sites as you like.

What if the file does not work or a newer version is out?

Tell us on the Request Item page or through Support. We check the file and add the newer version when we have it.
