About this product

The Zumtech theme is a WordPress theme by themexplosion for IT companies, technology consultants and digital service firms. It is built for Elementor, adds its own custom Elementor widgets, including an animated hero, and comes with two pre-made home page demos plus forum pages. This page is for Zumtech 1.0.3, the current version on its ThemeForest page. On GPLGuide you download the original theme file to install on your own websites.

Good for: managed IT service providers, software development studios, cybersecurity and cloud consultants, IT support companies and tech startups that want a clean, modern business site with portfolio sections and a contact form.

Requirements: WordPress, with WordPress 6.1 named as the software version on the item page, and the free Elementor plugin for the theme's custom widgets. Elementor Pro is listed as compatible, not as required. No PHP version is published. Forms can run on the theme's own contact form, and Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms and WPForms are all on the compatibility list.

What the Zumtech theme does

Zumtech is a business theme with a clear audience: companies that sell IT solutions and technology services. It gives you two complete home page designs to start from, a flexible header and footer, several creative portfolio sections for past projects, testimonial sections and a set of custom widgets.

The pages are built in Elementor. Instead of only relying on Elementor's standard widgets, the Zumtech theme adds custom Elementor widgets for its own sections, such as the hero widget with its autoplay and speed settings. You edit text, images and settings visually, and nothing needs code for everyday changes.

Beyond the marketing pages, the item page lists fully featured forum pages, Mailchimp integration for newsletters and a custom built contact form. The site is translatable and WPML compatible, so you can run it in more than one language. The theme is responsive and marked as Gutenberg optimized, so blog posts can be written in the block editor.

The hero, testimonials and service sections

The hero area is the part of the Zumtech theme that has had the most work in its updates. Version 1.0.2 added a text animation to the hero, autoplay and speed options to the hero widget, and fixed hero slider styling. Version 1.0.1 added a setting for hero button visibility. In practice that means you can run a slider of headlines that changes on its own at the speed you choose, and turn the call to action button on or off.

The testimonial slider gained slider controls in 1.0.2, so visitors can move between client quotes themselves. The same release improved the background animation in the service and price area, which is where an IT firm usually lists its main services and packages.

Other details covered by the updates include the preloader, share icons on single pages and the color schemes, which 1.0.1 fixed. Together with the portfolio sections, these give you the usual building blocks of an IT company site: a strong opening, what you do, what it costs, who you have worked for and what clients say.

Zumtech theme key features: Elementor widgets, two home demos, animated hero, testimonial slider, portfolio and forum pages
The main parts of the Zumtech theme, as listed on its item page.

Forum pages, forms and newsletters

Forum pages are an unusual extra for an IT theme. They give a support company or software vendor a place for customer questions and community answers next to the marketing site. The item page doesn't name the forum plugin behind these pages, so check which one the theme expects when you install it. A public forum also needs someone to moderate it and keep spam out, so plan the time for that before you open it to customers.

For contact and quote requests the theme has its own contact form, and it lists Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms and WPForms as compatible. That gives you a choice: keep it simple with the built-in form or use a form plugin you already know. Mailchimp integration connects a newsletter sign-up to your mailing list.

Whichever form you choose, ask only for what you need to price a job, such as company size, the service needed and a phone number. A short quote form on the Zumtech theme's contact page is easier to finish than a long questionnaire.

Built on Underscores and Bootstrap 5

Under the surface, the Zumtech theme uses the Underscores starter framework and the Bootstrap 5 grid system. The developer describes the code as lightweight and search engine optimized, with well organized layers. For a developer who wants to add a page template or adjust styles, that means a familiar structure rather than a large custom framework.

The compatibility list also names Visual Composer, but the custom widgets are made for Elementor, so Elementor is the builder to use for the demo pages.

If you build sites for IT clients, the Underscores base and the Bootstrap grid make the Zumtech theme a sensible starting point for a child theme. The developer also sells Zumtech as an HTML template and as a Figma file on ThemeForest, which helps if your designer wants to mock up pages before you build them.

Site plans to copy with the Zumtech theme

Before you open Elementor, write down your services, three or four projects for the portfolio sections, a few short client quotes and your prices or starting prices. The Zumtech theme's sections are built around exactly these pieces, so having them ready makes the build quick.

Each idea below uses parts the developer lists for the theme, so you can build it with what comes in the package and the free plugins it supports.

  • Managed IT services provider: one home demo, the service and price area for monthly support plans, testimonials from local clients and the built-in contact form for quotes.
  • Software development studio: portfolio sections for apps and platforms you have shipped, a hero slider with one headline per service and a newsletter sign-up.
  • Cybersecurity consultancy: a calm hero without autoplay, a short list of audits and packages, and client quotes in the testimonial slider.
  • IT support company with a community: forum pages for customer questions, linked from the header next to the contact page.
  • Tech startup: the second home demo, an animated hero with a clear signup button and blog posts written in the block editor.
  • Agency in two languages: translate pages with WPML so clients can read about your services in their own language.

Keep the hero to one message per slide and the services list to the four or five things you really sell. Most visitors skim, so clear headings and prices, even as "from" figures, help them decide to get in touch. One clear call to action, such as "Book a free IT review", can then repeat on every page.

What's new in the Zumtech theme 1.0.3

The item page names 1.0.3 as the current version and shows a last update of June 29, 2025, but the changelog has no notes for 1.0.3, so we can't list what it changed.

The two earlier releases are documented. Version 1.0.2 (May 8, 2023) added the hero text animation, autoplay and speed options for the hero widget and slider controls for the testimonial slider, improved the service and price background animation, and fixed hero slider styles and the footer background color. Version 1.0.1 (April 26, 2023) fixed the preloader, share icon visibility and color schemes and added hero button visibility.

Good to know before you buy

The Zumtech theme is a small, focused theme. It has two home page demos, and while the item page says more layouts are coming soon, the changelog covers only three versions so far. WordPress 6.1 is the only software version listed, so test it on your current WordPress on a staging site first.

We couldn't find public documentation or a description of how the demo content is imported, and the item page doesn't list required plugins beyond what it marks as compatible. Expect to spend a little time exploring the package on a test install.

The demo credits its photos to Unsplash and Freepik, its illustrations to Freepik and its icons to Flaticon. The item page doesn't say these images are included, so plan to use your own. Nothing on the page points to a service on the developer's servers, such as a cloud library or AI tool.

Zumtech theme from GPLGuide vs the official subscription

The Zumtech theme is sold by themexplosion on ThemeForest, where the Regular licence costs $39. It includes future updates through the marketplace and six months of item support from themexplosion, which can be extended to 12 months for $10.13. Under Envato's licence for this item, its PHP code is licensed under the GPL.

From GPLGuide you get the original Zumtech 1.0.3 theme file, with the same home demos, Elementor widgets and forum pages. The file from GPLGuide comes with the license key already activated, so there is no key to enter.

Item support from themexplosion, refunds under Envato's rules and updates through your Envato account come only with a ThemeForest purchase. If you want the developer's help, buy the licence there.

Installing the Zumtech theme with Elementor in four steps.

A good first setup is to choose one of the two home demos and replace its text with your own services before touching the design. Set the hero widget's autoplay and speed, decide whether the hero button shows, add three client testimonials and connect Mailchimp. Then build a services page and a contact page, and test the form by sending yourself a quote request. Finally, check every page on a phone and a tablet before you go live.

Keeping it up to date

Updates from GPLGuide are manual. When a new version of the Zumtech theme is listed here, download it from your account and upload it under Appearance, Themes, Add New Theme, Upload Theme. WordPress offers to replace the installed copy, and your Elementor pages and settings stay in the database. If you edit theme files, use a child theme so updates don't overwrite your changes. If you see a newer release we haven't added, let us know on the Request Item/Update page.
